L’edificio antistante la baia di Watamu, è attiguo ad un’area gestita dalla cooperativa locale di pescatori, dove vengono stese, ad asciugare al sole dell’equatore, le vele delle imbarcazioni da pesca.
L’edificio ospita una residenza di vacanza; è composto da due corpi laterali con le camere ed un’area centrale che confluisce nella grande veranda, fulcro della vita condivisa dell’abitazione; una grande copertura in legno che raggiunge l’altezza di 15 metri uniforma l’intero volume dell’edificio e caratterizza i grandi spazi comuni coperti.
L’edificio è in muratura di corallo, la copertura è in legno massello con manto in foglie di makuti.
The building is in front of the north bay of Watamu beach, adjacent to an area managed by the local fishermen's cooperative where they are typically hung out to dry in the sun of the equator the sails of the fishing boats.
The building houses a holiday residence; it’s composed of two line buildings with the bedrooms and between these a central area that flows into the large verandah, the hub of the home life of the dwelling.
The renovation is composed of a new large wooden roof that reaches a height of 15 meters evens out the entire volume of the building and features large common areas covered; some large openings in coverage are turning to the ocean to view towards the bay.
The buildings are brick built, the roofs are made of solid wood with a layer of leaves in Makuti.
